Hi my name is Jorge,
I am a pretty cool and easy going kind of guy. I'm originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. (Coney Island) and have been in Florida for almost 3 years now. I haven't found that soul-mate that can accompany me to all the great places and do the things that Florida is known for. I enjoy good food, drink and good company. I am devoted to my career (High School Teacher, private school). I am also hopeful of beginning nursing classes in 2010.
My passions in life are learning about and experiencing new things with that special someone, maybe you? I love science, history, biology and nature so of course I watch the History, Science, Discovery and National Geographic’s channels in addition to the movie and sports channels.
I have two children. One is on his own and the other is living with her mother. My son (24) is married and made me a grandfather (A Boy) last June and is working on his Masters degree in Psychology. He thinks I’m crazy trying this on-line dating thing (just kidding, he supports me 100%). My Daughter (18) is working on her Bachelors degree in Theology. Can you imagine the thanks giving day conversation at the table? I get along well with kids, just ask my students (12th graders). I 'm open to having or inheriting kids. I like family life but could live the life of a romantic adventurous too. I believe I would be a great male/father figure for any kid. I have high morals and will raise a child to appreciate such morals and values. Yes I would consider marriage with that special someone, last time I looked my schedule was pretty much open and free for the next several decades. Besides I never had the privilege to marry. Who knows? But for right now, I'm more interested in companionship and friendship. We can go from there.
Some people mistakenly feel that because I am from the Big Apple (New York City) that I am addicted to the wild night life of clubbing. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am not into big crowds and loud music but could occasionally find myself doing just that if you like. But don't get me wrong, I'm not a choir boy either. I love having fun too. I can let loose, dance the night away, have some drinks, break night with good company and just be up to doing something spontaneous, wild and different.
I'm cool with pets (Dogs, Cats, etc...). My favorite types of music include: Classic Rock, Disco, R&B, Salsa and Classical music, however I can listen and dance to just about anything. Can I have this dance?
I am a former professional baseball player (Montreal Expos Minor League System, 1985-1987) and also coach high school baseball. I'm a die-heart Yankees aficionado and fan, so don't mess with my Yankees. Hope you like boxing. I enjoy watching boxing and fought in New York’s Golden Gloves, 1985. I ran for City Councilman in Brooklyn, New York (2001) and am the first to go and graduate from college in my family. I'm proud of my modest attempts at success and continue to be ambitious i.e., nursing school and a possible fast food restaurant franchise, although I'm not big into fast food, go figure. I feel young and strong and I am not finished with life yet. I still have a lot to do and offer while I'm still here. Want to join me?
