I am a forty four year old white male who separated from my wife nine months ago. This was the best decision I have ever made as each of us have a soulmate. Unfortunately, she was not my soulmate. I have been a psychiatric social worker for fourteen years.
My greatest passion in life is my civil rights movement magazine, movie, and poster collection. Also, I collect Barack Obama posters. The happiest moment of my life was November 4, 2008 at 11:00 PM when Barack Obama won the presidency. I remember having a conversation with my best friend two years earlier saying that I will never get to see a black president in my lifetime. It was a dream come true. I wish so much that the three civil rights legends: Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and Thurgood Marshall could have seen this moment. Barack Obama was elected president on the 100th anniversary of Thurgood Marshall's birth. Thurgood Marshall was the lead lawyer for the NAACP in the Brown V Board Of Education decision in 1954 which legally ended segregation and made the civil rights movement possible. I would love to meet a black woman who shares my passion for civil rights and who would enjoy visiting the civil rights historic sites.
I would love to get married again and possibly have a child. We as people are not meant to be living alone as we are naturally social creatures. I would describe myself as caring, affectionate, dependable, honest, having a sense of humor, and a good communicator. My ideal woman would share these qualities as well as being neat and organized, and financially stable. She would be romantic, but not be focused on sex. I believe that sex is only meaningful when it is part of a deep, committed loving relationship where there is trust and open communication. I believe that the best relationships and marriages have a foundation where the couple are friends first. They will say to each other you are my best friend.
My favorite author is Leo Buscaglia who wrote books on love such as Love, Living Loving, and Learning, and Loving Each Other. He taught a class at USC for many years called Love 1A.
I am also interested in politics, watching baseball and hockey, and listening to pop, jazz, and r&b music. My favorite singer is Roberta Flack and my favorite group is The Stylistics. I enjoy going to jazz concerts such as Detroit Jazz Festical each labor day weekend at Hart Plaza.
