Hello, Lady!
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Let me first describe myself. My full name is Walter R. Johnson and I currently live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am a single black male. I am 5’-11” tall and weigh about 234 lbs. (admittedly somewhat overweight). My birthday is August 14, 1947.
Some of the things that I enjoy (and would be glad to share with you) include music (jazz, blues, R&B, symphony, and ballet), travel, computers, amusement parks (especially roller-coasters), target shooting, books (history, science fiction, techno-thrillers, science, technology [in the broader sense of the word], politics, etc.), museums (i.e., the Air Force Museum; the Museum of Science and Industry), skydiving, hiking & camping, restaurants (the more foreign and/or exotic, the better), and, of course, soul food.
As of January 12, 2009, I have quit smoking. [FULL DISCLOSURE: After 13 months, I started smoking again. I do intend to quit again, but right now I'm a pack-a-day man.]
I am hoping to eventually meet a companion - more than merely an activity partner, but someone with whom I might eventually build a loving, life-long bond. I do realize that such a thing will not happen overnight; I do NOT believe in “love at first sight”. I am aware that such a commitment would take work, work, work, and that it will always be “a work in progress”. Many persons of both sexes glibly proclaim their willingness, but somehow their follow-through leaves something to be desired. A lot of people like to talk the talk, but I can – and will – walk the walk!
However, since I am not a fanatic about finding the "love of my life", I am quite willing to have a less intense, more casual, relationship of mutual companionship. The important thing is to have a basis of respect and at least a few shared interests.

I have to say, right up front, that I do not have a car. However, please don't take that fact in a negative way. Most of the places to which I need to go are accessible by either Metro or TANK bus. For those locations that are not accessible by public transportation, I can usually get a ride, for which I am more than willing to pay. Understand me: I am NOT a leach, beggar, or parasite!
